Scarf Art Newsletter – “Awestruck August”
I’m truly awestruck this August by the good, bad and ugly as most students have returned back-to-school, we celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the March of Washington and congratulate “The Fastest Woman in the World”, Sha’Carri Richardson. Unfortunately, gun violence across the country is still a factor for schools and communities at large. However, THANK GOD, good always prevails over evil. Ultimately, we know “All things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28
Today, August 28th is significant for multiple reasons, one being the 60th Anniversary of The March on Washington where Dr. Martin Luther King, JR. delivered his “I Have a Dream” speech. The purpose of the march was to advocate for the civil and economic rights of African Americans. As well, this month Sha’Carri Richardson regained the title of “Fastest Woman in the World” for the United States.
